A surgeon's notes

Technological blindness

There is no sense. I can see that now. That’s the only thing I can see. … Everything that isn’t there and doesn’t make sense. …

Apparently I’m never going to be able to … see the way I used to, … But I still do see. Only I don’t understand what I see, it doesn’t make sense. There are no distinctions, even between nearer and farther.

If I haven’t been affected by the “maybe-not’s,” I will be now recovering from laser surgery to my eyes. As a result of that, I will be unable to accomodate for about 10 days. Which means that I can’t read, use my computer or iPhone, knit or sew. I have planned to do some Spring cleaning, and I have lined up a bunch of audiobooks on my iPod – if only I can get someone to press play.

I have some posts lined up for the next week or so, but I will be avoiding twitter and email. I will see you all on the other side of the chasm. Wish me luck!

Hope you feel better soon! You might be able to cheat with a lg magnifying glass or plastic magnifying “sheets” older ppl use to help read small print books, etc. Or just take advantage of being analog for a while 🙂

“See” you on the flip side! 8)
